A Palestinian man is going to jail for 15 months for raping a Israeli woman.

Now, that by itself doesn't sound bad. Here's the catch:

At first he was charged with regular rape--then it was found out that it was actually consensual between the two people. So she is charging him with "deception" because he dressed like an Israeli and used the name "Daniel" and she thought he was an Israeli until afterwards. He is being charged with "rape by deception". What a ridiculous charge!

It disgusts me that this kind of prejudice can go on in a country that's supposed to be a bastion of freedom.

This is, pure and simple, the Israeli government promoting bigotry and prejudice. It's disgusting.

Luckily, as many of the articles show--he is attempting to appeal the court's decision.
