Well, after those fences got filled up, it started to bog down the whole machine and I uninstalled it.

Linux Mint 12 with Gnome, activities menu/quick launch/desktop select displayed, with banshee playing my stream in the system tray.

Does Mint have a GUI-based application installer for common programs, similar to what's available on Ubuntu, or do I have to use apt-get to get those things? I've heard a lot of good things about Mint--but they've all been general statements.

It's built from ubuntu, so the package installer is the same. :)
