I could fix the old avatars. I still have the old phpbb_config table. I could paste the old avatar_salt into the new config table, but we'd have to *cough* upload them again *cough* (just you and me and probably Citali). I don't mind, if you want to do that. It would fix all the old avatars like TU's.

wait, I already did that! I just looked, and the original avatar_salt is already there. In fact, I remember doing it now. Hmmm....

well crap. I don't know what happened, then. That should have worked. The users have the same form_salt, and the board has the same avatar_salt.

This confuses me greatly.

OK I just looked in the avatar folders, and some of them were set to owner read only. I just did a recursive CHMOD to fix the avatar permissions. I'll see if it made any difference.

bada bing. That seemed to do it. The perms were set wrong somehow on many of the avatars.
